A LEGEND RETURNS: THE VOLKSWAGEN MICROBUS

Volkswagen’s CEO Herbert Diess teased the world in a recent tweet writing, ‘Legend returns’. The fantastic news of the reincarnation of the ‘Hippie Van’ is a great surprise to the flower children of the new century.

Going on sale on 9 March 2022, the new electric VW Microbus recalls the iconic design of the original Hippie-Van yet it is equipped with all the state-of-the-art technology.

Since its first release 70 years ago, we have seen Volkswagen’s cult Camper model used as a protest vehicle, a motorhome, a vacation vehicle and so much more. Its image is engrained in our minds mostly as a symbol of counterculture, the favourite mode of transportation for Hippie communities in the US. This is why it came to be known as the Hippie-Van. The 2022 version is expected to include some details of the classic model. The all-new Volkswagen Microbus has a futuristic design while keeping loyal to its trademark box shape. The time for new adventures has come.
