Ali Bilge Akkaya’s “Five or Roadmaps of Hidden Imagery” exhibition will be displayed at x-ist Art Gallery in Beyoğlu from November 21 to December 21. This marks the artist’s fifth solo exhibition at x-ist and offers an immersive journey that bridges urban space and mental exploration. Through a compelling interplay of memory and architecture, Akkaya weaves geometric forms and architectural elements into thought-provoking compositions. The exhibition delves into the hidden meanings embedded in cityscapes, inviting viewers to embark on personal introspections and confront the loneliness and complexity of urban life. Spanning cities like Lausanne, Cordoba, Tel Aviv, and Hong Kong, Akkaya’s works trace the physical and emotional imprints of urban environments, exploring both individual and collective dimensions of urban memory. Notably, this exhibition also debuts Akkaya’s first sculptural work, “Lair,” which reflects his exploration of geometric forms in a three-dimensional structure. Ultimately, the exhibition encourages viewers to construct mental maps, uncovering personal meanings in the intersections of cityscapes, architecture, and memory. artxist.com
