London’s new hotspot
Prepare yourselves to meet The Twenty Two, the newest and poshest venue in London’s trailblazing social scene.
An Edwardian mansion redecorated in the classical French style; London’s 22 Grosvenor Square has a new tenant – The Twenty Two! Opened by Navid Mirtorabi, a well-known figure in the British hotel industry, The Twenty Two is a hotel and members-only social club. Designed by interior architect Natalia Miyar and French decorator Bambi Sloan, the building has 31 rooms, a restaurant and areas designated to members. The selection of silk, velvet and custom-made wallpaper echoes the style of Bonaparte’s castle, Malmaison, and sometimes Christian Dior’s house in Paris. Mirtorabi admits their target is a ‘creative and curious’ clientele, but he does not expect a specific dress code. Dress ‘the way you feel good’ is their motto. Mirtorabi wants to see more of the younger generation at The Twenty Two, however, the middle-aged are also welcome. If you have any plans of staying in the Edwardian mansion or dining at the restaurant with Chef Alan Christie at the helm, please book in advance.
