SANAYI313 ARCHITECTS – MELİS GÖRAL SHOWROOM

Melis’ personal art collection and her identity as designer has made a pleasant and unique contribution to our work in the planning of her new showroom.

Located on the first floor of Number 51, this apartment happens to be one of the first of its kind in the Bebek neighbourhood of Istanbul. We used the original architecture of the building as a base for our approach on design. The symmetrical arches designed specifically for the space coupled with the marquetery flooring has a dominating presence while the minimal but independently maximal furniture items work to focus attention on Melis’ own designs. A combination of masculine features bearing art deco traces complement contrasting feminine details in the interior. The jewellery on display make a strong impression thanks to the suggestions of lighting consultant Ali Berkman.
