HISTORICAL MONGERI BUILDING
This historical construction designed by the famous Italian Architect Giulio Mongeri in 1920’s has a space of 1500 square meters. The building manifests its authenticity via a domed tower that bears the traces of Classical Ottoman architecture, with China porcelain panels and pointed arches.
Nowadays, the building serves as an art center for Bozlu Art Project’s events although once it was used as a hospital. In fact, I was fascinated even more, when I learned that my mother and my cousin were born there. Mongeri Building, with its great library, exhibition halls and seminar rooms in which art talks are organized, serves on a domain congruent with such a deeply-rooted history, under the name of “Bozlu Art Project Şişli”.
